A great Venetian museum redesigned by a team of contemporary architects.
The project for an integrated exhibition space, for continuity between antique and modern. The book presents the definite project for the restoration, the functional adjustment and expansion of the Galleries of the Accademia in Venice, located in the Carità monumental complex, and is the result of the work of a team coordinated by Tobia Scarpa and Renata Codello. The project presents the visitor with a plan that emphasizes the continuity between a historical space and a contemporary space. This underlines the setting of the great masterpieces from the past in an extraordinary architecture by Bon, Palladio, Massari, Maccaruzzi and Selva, to which is added the design by Carlo Scarpa, “master” of twentieth-century architecture.
