The exhibition offers a rapid overview of the discoveries made in the excavations of the ancient shipyard of Pisa, through the fil rouge of the Augustan age. In this period a great flood caused the formation of the deposit in Pisa. The exhibition is an evocative reconstruction, in actual size, of a river dock in the Augustan era. A large portion of the catalogue covers archaeological material, divided into the following sections: life on board, river and marsh life, from the world to Pisa, from Pisa to the world. The exhibition also contains a documentary section organized by the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
