The monograph on a leading figure of the fertile period of Renaissance architecture in Lombardy.

This book is the first complete monograph on the work of Alessio Tramello, who was active in the first decades of the 1500s, and a true protagonist of the fertile period of Renaissance architecture in Lombardy.
Bruno Adorni has reconstructed the interesting career of the architect, shedding light on his projects in Piacenza, including some of the most important worksites in northern Italy: the Benedictine church of San Sisto, the Olivetan complex of San Sepolcro, and the masterpiece of the church of Santa Maria di Campagna. In these works we can observe, alongside a distant medieval ancestry, the powerful influence of Bramante: the original formal and design solutions found in the great Milanese works of Bramante are reflected in the churches of Tramello, translated in utterly personal terms, indicating the attentive, selective curiosity with which the architect from Piacenza was able to comprehend and absorb the great lesson of the master.
