Miyazawa Masaaki is a professional photographer. As well as having won an ICP award (International Center of Photography, founded by the Capa family) in 1985, his many publications and exhibitions have made him one of Japan's best-known photographers.
His photographic work on the Ise Shrine, in particular, includes the books Ise Jingū - gendai ni ikiru shinwa (The Ise Shrine - a modern legend, 2009), Ise Jingū no chie (Understanding the Ise Shrine, with Kawai Shinyo, 2011) and an itinerant exhibition (2011-12) entitled Ise shinwa he no tabi (Exploring the legend of Ise).
