Architectural historian (Waseda University, Tokyo). His most recent research projects, some of them still in progress, deal with the work of various architects: Richard Rogers, Zaha Hadid, Toyo Ito, Terunobu Fujimori, Seiichi Shirai, Carlo Scarpa, F.L. Wright, Otto Wagner and a monograph on the Ise Shrine.
