Vittorio Storaro

Born in Rome in 1940, Vittorio Storaro made his debut as a cinematographer with Franco Rossi's Giovinezza Giovinezza before working on a number of films with Italian film directors such as Bertolucci, Dario Argento, Patroni Griffi, Ronconi and Luigi Bazzoni. He gained international renown in 1979 with Francis Ford Coppola and Apocalypse Now.
He has won three Oscars for the best filmography for Apocalypse Now, Reds (Warren Beatty) and The Last Emperor (Bertolucci).
In 1995 he started teaching cinematography on the "Scrivere con la luce" course at the Accademia dell'Immagine in L'Aquila.
