Lucia Simonato

Lucia Simonato is a pupil of Paola Barocchi. She currently teaches at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and is an authority on 17th- and 18th-century art, with a focus on the history of sculpture and European art criticism. She contributes to leading scientific publications and is the author of Impronta di Sua Santità. Urbano VIII e le Medaglie (published Pisa 2008) on Pope Urban VIII and the medals struck under his papacy.
