The vast national and international iconography of San Roch, from the 15th to the 17th century, with contributions by leading experts.
For the Jubilee year Piacenza has organized an important exhibition on the figure of St. Roch, the French saint who reached the city in 1322 and remained there to care for the sick. The show has been prepared by an illustrious team of authoritative experts: Carlo Bertelli, Lucia Fornari Schianchi, Chiara Maggioni, Domenico Ponzini and André Vauchez. The catalogue examines, thanks to contributions by these scholars, the vast national and international iconography of San Roch, from the 15th to the 17th century, with precious examples of painting and sculpture, including works by Tiepolo, Bernardo Strozzi, Ludovico Carracci, Bassano, Parmigianino and Pordenone.
