Four projects by as many young artists chosen by a jury of art critics, gallery-owners and curators, shed light on the artistic production of the post-1968 generation.
The Direzione Generale per l’ Architettura e l’Arte Contemporanea (DARC) and the Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI (MAXXI) of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, have organized the third edition – 2004-2005 – of the competitive prize for young Italian artists, with the aim of promoting national artistic research though recognizing the most significant experiments. The jury of the Prize for Young Italian Artists 2004-2005 has selected four finalists: Carolina Raquel Antich (Rosario, Argentina, 1970); Manfredi Beninati (Palermo, 1970); Loris Cecchini (Milan, 1969), Lara Favaretto (Treviso, 1973), from the 377 participants. Their four projects are illustrated in the volume, which the Biennale public can vote on during the entire event, to select the overall winner.
