Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba, born in Tokyo, lives and works in Vietnam. For Macro (27 September 2003 - 4 January 2004) Hatsushiba has created the Flag Project, a video shot on the water at Okinawa.
Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba, born in Tokyo, lives and works in Vietnam. His first installations were made with taken from the places of his life, such as rickshaws, bamboo curtains and mosquito nets. For Macro, Hatsushiba has created the Flag Project, which will also be shown at the Istanbul Biennial. The project is a video shot on the water at Okinawa, the former US military base. The figures in the video begin to paint on canvases that are transformed into portraits of the most famous American actors associated, through their films, with Vietnam.
