An cutaway view of Venetian life in the 18th century: a palazzo, the garments and their museum.
[The Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo / Research Center on the History of Fabrics and Dress] With contributions by multiple authors, the first part of the guide retraces the history of Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae in Venice, the Museum and the Research Center on the History of Fabrics and Dress, accompanied by a plan of the museum.
The second part, on fashions in Venice in the 1700s, includes a catalogue of garments grouped by type.
The volume also contains an interesting section on the restoration of the exhibits, and one on the mannequins that have been specially created for the exhibition. There is also a useful glossary of technical terminology.
