With the second part of the third tome, edited by the Alighiero Boetti Archives, the work of archiving and scholarly interpretation of Boetti’s work, begun in 2009, continues under the direction of Anna Marie Sauzeau and Jean-Christophe Ammann.

The scholarly direction of the second part of the third tome is entrusted to Mark Godfrey, curator of the Tate Modern in London and author of a monograph on the artist as well as the curator of the important international exhibition Game Plan. The work undertaken by Godfrey continues along the methodological lines initiated by his predecessors, albeit with some innovations bound up with new interpretations of the oeuvre. The arrangement of the volume, essentially chronological, from 1980 to 1987, is divided into ten macro-chapters dealing with a broad range of works characterized by an almost private dimension and often on paper. A large number of sheets, heterogeneous in dimensions and iconographies, recount a crucial decade for the artist, characterised by work and personal changes, which converge in a new creative vitality, as shown by the cycles La Natura è una faccenda ottusa, Le Calligrafie, Le Copertine, Le Clessidre cerniera e viceversa. In addition to the works on paper, there are also small embroideries, and the Remake Arte Povera series.
