Terremobili. Tullio Pericoli

The earth buckles in Tullio Pericoli’s new paintings, a tribute to a landscape that today is becoming increasingly fragile and constantly changing.
The theme of landscape, present from the beginning in Pericoli’s art, today returns to the centre of his work in this volume. Introduced with a text by Paolo di Stefano, it is presented as a story told in chapters and brings together a selection of his work produced in 2023-2024. Eighty-three previously unpublished paintings, of different sizes but all square in format.

Inserted in this perfect geometry, Pericoli’s landscapes become mobile, moved by the trepidations that come “from the many windows open to the world”, revealing a balance that is now unstable, in the fragility of our natural scenarios.

From the cycle Geologie, dating from the early seventies, to the Frammenti of the exhibition at Palazzo Reale (2021), Pericoli has built stratified images, material sections, seismic structures, and maps made up of signs and furrows. In Terremobili, the painting crumbles, like certain perforated buildings that recall the rock engravings of the Camuni and reveals the precarious state of nature with the lightness of play.
A very broad selection of the works contained in this volume is the subject of an exhibition at the Galleria Consadori in Milan, Via Brera 2, from 8 May to 28 June 2025.
