Ca’ d’Oro

A museum located in a splendid late Gothic building, with works by Mantegna, Tintoretto, Titian, Giorgione, and collections of works in marble, medals, bronzes, ceramics from different schools and eras.

In one of the most important late Gothic buildings in the city, Ca’ d’Oro, the Gallery named for the baron Giorgio Franchetti, who purchased the building, contains a collection of works he gathered since his youth, which together with works owned by the city and others from the Accademia Galleries, constitute the exhibits of this museum today. This handy guide takes visitors through the various rooms, to admire works in marble, medals, bronzes and Venetian, Tuscan and Central Italian paintings from the 14th to the 16th century – including the St. Sebastian of Mantegna – late Mannerist paintings, works by Tintoretto, Titian, Giorgione, Guardi, a collection of Venetian ceramics, and Flemish paintings from the 15th to the 17th century. An overall plan and individual layouts for each section permit easy identification of the rooms and the most significant works illustrated in the guide.
