This book is the first analytical catalogue to rest on verification of the historical data and documents of the works of Julius Evola (1898-1974), promoted by the Comitato Scientifico per Evola Artista, referent of the cataloguing on behalf of the Julius Evola Foundation (Rome).
The result of rigorous scholarly work, the book is a fundamental resource for initiating new interpretations and discovering the implications of the events in the lift of an artist who played a significant role in the European avant-garde of the early twentieth century.
The edition includes paintings on canvas and other supports, drawings, sketches and some decorative objects made by Evola (including, for example, a coffee table and a vase in decorated and glazed terracotta), with the intention of offering a comprehensive picture of his brief but intense pictorial-artistic activity.
The catalogue of images is preceded by essays by Guido Andrea Pautasso, curator of the project, Paolo Campiglio and Francesco Tedeschi, and completed with the artist’s biography, with a list of exhibitions, bibliographies relating to Evola’s works and writings on art, as well as a bibliography by Pautasso extending to his artistic career.
The essays are in bilingual Italian-English versions.
