I martedì di Carthago

01 oct 2019 – 10 mar 2020

In conjunction with Carthago. Il mito immortale, the Parco Archeologico del Colosseo is embarking on a structured programme of encounters exploring the themes of the exhibition at the Colosseum and the Tempio di Romolo and Rampa Imperiale of the Roman Forum while also examining Tunisia’s contemporary art scene. The calendar includes study days centred on recent excavations and research, a reflection on how Carthage has featured in the cinema, theatre and literature and in the more contemporary creation of videogames. The figures of Dido, Hannibal and Salammbô appear in modern imagery and will come to life in a scholarly narration. Food for thought and debate on contemporary history will be stimulated by conversations on the geopolitical reality of the Mediterranean basin.
It all starts with a musician, a dancer and a calligrapher, some of the Tunisian artists invited to represent the discipline in which they are distinguished in their homeland and abroad, with the collaboration of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Tunis and organised by Electa.
