After its success at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, a new edition of the exhibition Umberto Boccioni. Genio e memoria (Genius and Memory) arrives at the Mart in Rovereto.
A hundred years after his death, this artist, who more than any of his contemporaries represented the spirit of Futurism, is currently revaluated in the light of recent research, on rare archived materials. Drawings, paintings, sculptures, incisions, vintage pictures, books and magazines: 180 pieces that tell Umberto Boccioni’s story, illustrate his international fame and dialogue with the Museum’s permanent collection.
The exhibition, curated by Francesca Rossi (Castello Sforzesco, Milan) with Agostino Contò’s (Biblioteca Civica, Verona) collaboration, is the result of in depth research carried out by the Musei Civici in Milan and promoted by the Soprintendenza of Castello Sforzesco, in collaboration with the Museo del Novecento, the Palazzo Reale in Milan, the Mart in Rovereto and publishers Electa.
