Daniela Alejandra Sbaraglia

Daniela Alejandra Sbaraglia graduated summa cum laude in Art History from the University of Bologna in 2005.
After a scholarship at the Warburg Institute in London (2006), she completed her postgraduate studies at the School of Specialisation in Art History in Siena (2009), under the direction of Enrico Crispolti. In 2016 she obtained a special mention for her PhD thesis on artistic relations between Europe and South America in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a focus on the figure of Luigi Fontana (Lucio Fontana's father), developed in co-tutorship between the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University of Rosario (Argentina).

Her research focuses on the origins, training and activity of Lucio Fontana in Argentina. She takes part in scholarly committees of international exhibitions, such as I Tesori d'Italia (Agrigento, 2025) and Lucio Fontana. Un futuro
c'è stato (Rodez, 2024), and at conferences, including Lucio Fontana. Origini e immaginario (Venice, 2024) and Il 19 di oggi (Buenos Aires, 2022). She has collaborated with the Fondazione Lucio Fontana on the Dizionario Lucio
Fontana (2023). She lives in Turin, where she teaches art history and contributes to school publishing projects with publishers such as Loescher and Zanichelli.
