Philippe Daverio was born at Mulhouse in Alsace in 1949, and lives in Milan. A former tenure professor of Architecture at the University of Palermo, he is also the author and presenter of the popular Passepartout Italian television series on art, architecture and culture. He is currently editor of the magazine Art e Dossier and has been Artistic Director of the Milan Museo del Duomo since 2014. He has written a number of successful works published by Rizzoli, among them the trilogy Il Museo Immaginato (2011), Il Secolo Lungo della Modernità (2012) and Il Secolo Spezzato delle Avanguardie (2014), together with Il gioco della pittura and La buona strada (2015), Ho finalmente capito l'Italia (2017) and Grand Tour d'Italia a piccoli passi (2018).
