Marco Carminati is a professional journalist. Since 1990 he has been contributing to "Domenica," the cultural supplement in Il Sole 24 Ore. He has analyzed themes centering on the history of painting, the miniature, and collecting. Among his publications: Il David in carrozza (2009), La Gioconda di Leonardo da Vinci (2003), Piero della Francesca (2003), Codici miniati del maestro B.F. (1995), Cesare da Sesto, 1477-1523 (1994). In 2007, he won the first edition of the Premio Viareggio for Journalism for his article on the discovery in Milan of Caravaggio's birth certificate. Since 1999 he has collaborated actively in the educational programs promoted by FAI Fondo Ambiente Italiano. He has worked as a councillor for the Associazione Amici di Brera and the Musei Milanesi since 2008.
