“To understand a car, you have to caress it. You have to wash it. When there’s something about a model that I feel I’m not getting, I close my eyes and touch it, I feel it” (Walter de Silva)

A new edition, revised and updated in its graphic design, format and packaging, of the monograph Walter de Silva, published for the first time in 2012. The texts are enriched by a section on the latest developments in the designer’s creativity, touching the world of fashion and lighting design.
Walter de Silva, winner in 2018 of the Barsanti e Matteucci Prize for innovation in the automotive field, made his debut in the car industry in 1986 with Alfa Romeo, where he immediately created innovations with models that won numerous design awards. From 2007 to 2015 he headed the Volkswagen Group’s Style Center. In 2011 he won the Compasso d’Oro, the most sought-after prize in industrial design.
