This series – directed by Francesco Dal Co – continues with the photographic atlas proposed in the Visual history of Italian architecture 1400-1700. A history in images through the most excellent architectures that embody the character of Italian architecture from the Eighteenth century to the Twentieth, tracing its stylistic evolution.

The book is organized in three main parts, each dedicated to a century and introduced by a brief historical text written by History of Italian Architecture editors: Giovanna Curcio (Eighteenth century) Amerigo Restucci (Nineteenth century), Giorgio Ciucci e Francesco Dal Co (Twentieth century).
The volume is enriched by a comprehensive appendix composed by essential bibliographies and biographies of the architects presented in the three main sections
