Steve McCurry. Una vita per immagini, is the illustrated biography of the photographer who, more than any other, has marked the common imagery, with shots telling the stories of faces and people from all the world's cultures.
The book was written exclusively for Mondadori Electa by his sister Bonnie, president of the Studios, linked to her brother by a close emotional and professional relationship, as well as the custodian of Steve’s image archive. The story starts from McCurry’s childhood, continues with his first trip to Europe and his irrevocable decision to make a career as a photographer, and then retraces 40 years of McCurry’s work, spent between theaters of war (Cambodia, the Middle East, Afghanistan), natural disasters (monsoons in India) and places of the spirit (the great Himalayan peaks and temples). The volume contains 600 shots by the photographer, over 200 of them previously unpublished, and a series of documents and memorabilia of his adventurous journeys.
