The first retrospective on Rachel Whiteread in an Italian museum, displaying artworks coming from institution and private collections from all over the world
Rachel Whiteread is carrying out a research on everyday objects like tables, chairs, bathtubs. For her what is central is not the object in itself, but its contextualization in the space, by which it seems to be swallowed up. Through the absence of the human figure, the artist is able to create perceptive associations, using materials that stimulate senses, such as polyurethane, resins, plaster and rubber. For the occasion, the artist will display a site-specific installation conceived for MADRE
