Electa has worked with the MAST Foundation since 2015 to produce publications documenting the foundation’s activities. Every year the MAST Foundation organises temporary exhibitions on industrial photography, ranging from the past to the current experimental cutting edge, in their multifunctional laboratory. This new volume is a comprehensive overview of all the exhibitions held during 2017. The photographs from each of the exhibitions are introduced by short forewords written by well-known scholars who study the history of modern industry from a range of different points of view and by essays which influenced photography in the twentieth century. The book not only comprises the most complete documentation currently available on the history and development of industrial photography, but is also an indispensable guide to the history of photography from its origins to the present day.
