Lucy+Jorge Orta. Antarctica

The work of Lucy and Jorge Orta, an Anglo-Argentinian couple based
in Paris, ranges between art, architecture and design, using different techniques,
materials and strategies of communication. Their sculptures and installations,
objects, clothing, paintings, engravings and performances explore
contemporary themes.
The catalogue starts from one of their latest projects, Antarctic Village –
No Borders, to relate the genesis of their most recent productions.
A ‘cahier de voyage’ rich in photographs, illustrations, sketches and drawings,
together with the report of the expedition to Antarctica, from which emerge numerous
points for reflection and a message in favour of the free circulation of people, the
abolition of all boundaries and cultural exchanges between people.
