From the collection of the Albertina of Vienna, the most beautiful graphic works by Michelangelo and Italian artists of his day.
[The age of Michelangelo. Masterpieces of the Albertina]. From Michelangelo and Leonardo to Primaticcio, Raphael to Parmigianino, Andrea del Sarto to Perino del Vaga and Rosso Fiorentino, the exhibition contains an exceptional range of works, in over ninety folios. Drawings, etchings, handmade prints by the greatest artists of the 1400s and 1500s, documenting the contribution of each to the definition of the expressive modes of the tradition of the Italian Renaissance and Mannerism. The selection of the works, all from the collections of the celebrated Albertina of Vienna, has been made by Achim Gnann, a leading expert on the Italian graphic art of the 1500s.
