In Italy, living has come to mean ownership and individualism. And that is precisely why it is worth looking at those ongoing living emergencies of the micro and macro suburbs which we tend only to be concerned about if there is a tsunami, an earthquake or when they reappear in the heart of Europe.
Tragedies and emergencies which demand our combined intervention or at least compassion, but which we tend to regard as different and removed from our own daily living experience.
