[The Venice Biennial. 61st international film festival] The International Film Festival, held for the first time in 1932, is a unique event for film lovers and sector professionals, and has been a magnet, over the years, for the world’s most famous actors and directors. The festival presents world premieres, first in Venice and then in Rome and Milan, of the finest films, selected by a commission chaired by the new director Marco Müller. The catalogue, featuring vivid illustrations, documents the films in the program.
As well as classic cinema, the festival includes other sections to on experimental filmmaking, open to research on new cinema languages.
