This is the second one-person exhibition of the artist in Italy, after the one organized in 2003 at the Galleria Massimo Minini in Brescia.
The artist of Egyptian origin Ghada Amer (born in 1963) was raised between Paris and Nice and now lives in New York. In her works she represents female nudes, but also the stranger, the other, mixing different techniques and languages (painting, collage, drawing). She has had many one-person exhibitions in the United States and in Europe. In 1999 she exhibited at Venice Biennale. She’s the first Arab artist to have a one-person exhibition at the Museum of Art in Tel Aviv. The catalogue will feature a number of original works specifically conceived for MACRO as well as a selection of previous works.
