The scientific catalogue of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome is the first of three volumes to be devoted to the collections of one of the major Italian museums.
[Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome / Scientific Catalogue] The book contains 700 works reproduced in colour and accompanied by a meticulous scientific description. Over thirty years after the volume edited by Palma Bucarelli, this scientific work is of extraordinary importance. The first volume, edited by Sandra Pinto is devoted to the twentieth-century rooms. This will be followed by the volumes on the nineteenth-century and contemporary art rooms. Each room is introduced by a general introductory description of the themes and lines of artistic research, groups and personalities, which sometimes appear to be contradictory though they are presented together.
