A new volume from the collection "for example" dedicated to the one-family house type. Color pictures of large format, attached to draw boards, constitute the volume's iconography.
The volume proposes a rich selection of one-family houses projected by young southamerican architects, mainly active in Brasil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina, disciples and heirs of modernist architects work such as: Luis Barragán, Ricardo Legorreta, Oscar Niemayer, Juan O’Gorman, Carlos Villanueva.
The care in the native materials, the way to relate with the surrounding environment, the attention to the light-modulation, together with a sophisticated articulation on the planning, make of these residences an exhaustive and useful review of contemporary living models. Among the published houses works of:Smiljan Radic, Mathias Klotz, Aleandro Aravena e Paulo Mendes da Rocha, winner this year of the Pritzker Prize 2006.
