An anti-classical, anti-mannerist artist, creator of allegories: the central position of the baroque between two worlds in pursuit of human happiness.

[Bernini architect] In a journey back through time, this volume explores the hypothesis of a less monolithic Bernini, whose aggressive forms conceal internal contradictions; of an unbiased approach to relationships, an organization that limits its function to certain significant moments of decision that expand its impact beyond physical presence. On a biographical level the contradictions, the violence, the disputes with the popes are aspects that shed light on the architectural work, which reveals a restlessness proportionate to its daring solutions.
The heterogenesis of the linguistic components presents other problems that require investigation; especially for the results achieved in Europe, for the resonance of influences and reflections, for the dimensions of a lesson that unfolds in a coherent world like the papal Rome of the 1600s, but also made a clear mark on the Europe to come.
