Topolino e il dono dell’Accademia (texts by Alessandro Sisti, drawings by Giorgio Cavazzano) tells the story of how Venice’s Gallerie dell’Accademia originated 200 years ago thanks to the friendship and collaboration of three unique people: Count Leopoldo Cicognara, the painter Francesco Hayez and the sculptor Antonio Canova. They meet again in the company of Goofy, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who, for the occasion, will play characters from the 19th century, the period in which the story is set.The story of Topolino e il dono dell’Accademia marks a new chapter in the partnership between Venice’s Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Topolino weekly magazine after the Zio Paperone e i libri segreti di Paperus Picuzio cartoon, published in April 2016 in conjunction with the Aldo Manuzio.
