Matteo Strukul

MATTEO STRUKUL (Padua, 1973) writer and screenwriter. His stories are translated and published into sixteen foreign languages and the rights have been acquired by film makers. The winner of the award Premio Bancarella in 2017, he is best known for his tetralogy on the Medici family - which topped the bestseller list in Italy with over 500,000 copies sold and stayed at the top of the charts in Argentina, Colombia, Germany and Serbia - and his recent book on Giacomo Casanova published by Mondadori, which will be translated into eleven languages. Strukul has a doctorate in European law and writes for magazines "Il Venerdì di Repubblica" and "Tuttolibri". He lives with his wife Silvia and divides his time between Padua, Berlin and Transylvania.
