From the series of publications on the Cultural Assets of the Umbria Region, this volume presents the Apulian, Etruscan and Roman ceramics conserved at the Museum of Deruta.
[Regional Museum of Ceramics of Deruta / Greek, Italiot and Etruscan pottery. Terracotta, oil lamps and glass] The Umbria Region has spent decades on the systematic cataloguing of the cultural assets found in its territory. This activity has led to a series of books presenting the results of these efforts aimed at protecting and publicizing the region’s unique heritage. This volume is on the most ancient materials conserved in the Regional Museum of Ceramics of Deruta: relics from the Apulian, Etruscan and Roman traditions, from private collections acquired over the course of the last century. After an introduction that reconstructs the formation of the collection, the pieces are catalogued and presented by type, in keeping with a scientific, archaeological approach.
