It is only by handling materials that you truly realise how they behave, how they react to external stimuli
Behind the irrepressible vitality of Dodo Arslan lies the soul of a researcher. Naturally curious about the intimate heart of things, he cannot resist taking objects to pieces, studying the components and manipulating the materials so as to be led each time to observe its unexpected reactions and behavior. He has a physical, visceral relationship with materials. His attention flares up when he discovers how an ingenious device functions or in the presence of the incredible spectacle of structures naturally occupying space. Often the roots of his inspiration lie in his desire to defy the laws of physics, to prove the characteristics of a metal or the hardness of a stone or the elasticity of a polymer. But, most of all, Dodo is a sort of visionary inventor: part craftsman who loves exploring, part child engineer. His work is described in an interview in which the designer talks about some of his ideas and designs.
