The lavish selection of works on display form the prestigious nucleus of one of the most important private contemporary art collections in Italy, the Paolo Consolandi collection.

The exhibition dedicated to the well-known collectionist traces a historical and critical path through good taste and the arts from the fifties to the present, curated by two well-known critics and art historians, Francesca Pasini and Angela Vettese. Catalogue by Francesca Pasini and Emma Zanella.
The roughly 200 exhibited works reflect not only Paolo Consolandi’s personal refinement and sensitivity, but also bear mute witness to the experiences of artistic research initiated by Italian masters like Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Enrico Castellani, and their international counterparts like Joseph Albers, through the Arte Povera of Jannis Kounellis, Luciano Fabro, Alighiero Boetti Giulio Paolini and Michelangelo Pistoletto, Joseph Beuys, Richard Long and Joseph Kosuth stretching onward to the great photography of the 90s with Thomas Struth, Candida Hofer, Jeff Wall, Andreas Gursky, and the resounding names in contemporary art like Maurizio Cattelan, Hirst, Anish Kapoor.
