From an age-old tradition to research and experimentation in the field of design and contemporary architecture. Established in Ravenna thanks to the initiative of Francesca Fabbri in 1988, Akomena has been under Giuliano Babini’s artistic directorship since 1990. The works are produced in collaboration with architects and designers of international repute like La Pietra, Sottsass, Nibbia, Natalini, Serafini, Dalisi, Marano, Ravage, Ruggeri, Bonetti & Garouste, Guerriero and Veneziano. While the memorial sculpture for Rudolf Nuryev in the cemetery of Sainte Geneviève Sous Bois, Paris, was executed from a design by set designer Ezio Frigerio and in association with the Bastille Opera House in Paris, in 1996.
