Once again this year, Milan will come alive with events and encounters for Bookcity, a celebration of books. This year, Mondadori, Electa and Rizzoli are featuring the best 2018 authors and their books in iconic locations around the city – in the very best Bookcity spirit.
Steve McCurry and his monumental picture biography, published by Mondadori in a world exclusive, will be appearing at the Piccolo Teatro Grassi; and the latest book by Philippe Daverio, who again accompanies us on an exploration of Italy’s artistic wonders, is being presented at the Pinacoteca di Brera. Art is also at the heart of an encounter on Le muse di Klimt, Paola Romagnoli’s book, fittingly at the Casa delle donne.
The focus shifts to young people, their world and book design with Racconti di amicizia (Electakids); the Istituto Europeo del Design will feature in the story of a splendid partnership between the publisher and the young students who produced the illustrations. At the Museo delle culture-Mudec in Via Tortona, the outstanding author Luca Mercalli will explain today’s environmental crisis to young children with his book Uffa che caldo!
At Municipio 3 the issue is the power of the Music, and Paola Maugeri prensents her book Rock and Resilienza, with Daria Colombo, Francesca Zanasi Gabrielli Panza e Filippo Rossi. An event accompanying the presentation of Dialogo sull'immigrazione, at the Centro San Fedele, will shine a spotlight on citizenship and an impending conflict between the rigid application of rule and ethics. The two great designers Massimo and Lella Vignelli are celebrated in a book that is a masterpiece of essence and beauty, Design: Vignelli, to be presented at the Triennale. Last come the detective stories: Deborah Brizzi is a policewoman and writer who will talk about herself at Arci Bellezza and Ludovico Paganelli , who set his Il seme della violenza in and around Via Cordusio, will be at the Sala Stampa of the Borsa.
